James Ray Sweat Lodge Killer?
James Ray was arrested today (Wednesday Feb 3rd) by Yavapai County Sheriff’s at his attorney’s office in Prescott on three counts of manslaughter in the deaths of three participants at an Arizona sweat lodge ceremony he organized last year.
Ray is charged with the deaths of Kirby Brown, James Shore and Liz Neuman.
Ray’s attorney, Luis Li, said that the charges were unjust and that Ray would be exonerated in court.
Wondering what 2nd Degree Murder is? Second-degree murder is ordinarily defined as 1) an intentional killing that is not premeditated or planned, nor committed in a reasonable “heat of passion” or 2) a killing caused by dangerous conduct and the offender’s obvious lack of concern for human life. Update Feb 4th: James Ray, through his lawyers, accepted responsibility for the deaths in Sedona. However, that doesn’t make it a crime they say.
